Escape Rooms are THE BEST Team Building Activity in the World!

Looking for a better team building event? Try an escape room!

We offer four different puzzle based immersive adventures. In each, you must escape from a locked room in 60 minutes or less. Using teamwork, logic, and keen powers of observation, you must find clues in order to solve a series of puzzles and escape the room.

We believe escape rooms represent the best team building activity in the world. At escape rooms like Port City Escape, groups of players do exactly two things:

1) Using their brainpower, they work as a team towards a common goal.
2) Have a stupendous amount of fun.

That’s all there is to it! We see it time and time again at Port City Escape. Leadership will bring a team to play, and the players automatically assume they are in for another tedious team building event. Then, once the game is going, they experience their first “a-ha!” moment as they overcome a mental obstacle as a team. All of a sudden the players buy-in to the experience. They use their brains, they work together, and they have an incredible time. And when they’re done, they contact us to tell us two things:

1) Their Port City Escape experience built new relationships, strengthened existing ones, and vastly improved the team’s performance.
2) They want to know when they can come back and play our other rooms.

What is an Escape Room?

Escape rooms involve puzzle-based immersive adventures where you must escape from a locked room in 60 minutes. Using teamwork, wit, logic, and keen powers of observation, you must find clues in order to solve a series of puzzles to escape the room.

Imagine this Scenario… You and your teammates are trapped in a room with a mission that involves 60 minutes of intense problem-solving. You and your team will work together to reveal clues, solve riddles, and crack codes that will ultimately bring you closer to completing the mission and escaping the room. Players are armed with only their wits as they race against the clock to solve riddles and unravel cryptic clues hidden inside. Choose from four different themed rooms, each containing a unique set of puzzles.

Your team has been commissioned as spies for the Union. The hidden cabin of Confederate General Whiting holds crucial military secrets.

Infiltrate the cabin and secure classified information pertaining to the Battle of Fort Fisher.

It’s up to you and your team to sneak in and find the information before anyone finds you. The fate of the battle rests in your hands!

Work as a team using your best problem-solving skills, intuition, instinct, and logic. Along with your other team members, gather clues, crack codes, and hopefully, retrieve the information and complete the puzzle room before time runs out.

You and your team must be incredibly daring – or incredibly foolish – to check into Motel 813 on a dark and stormy night. In 1972, the exact motel room you booked became the scene of a grisly murder of a young family. While most people blamed the husband, the murder was never solved. When a second couple went missing after checking into this same room room it was closed to the public.

Now, you and your team are locked in this room. You have 60 minutes. If you are able to uncover the mystery behind their tragic deaths, your destiny will be no different than those of the guests that were here before you. Enjoy your stay.

Notorious pirate Blackbeard (Edward Teach) ‘s armed flotilla has landed of five vessels at the entrance to the Charleston S.C. harbor and blockaded the busiest and most important port of the southern colonies.

All vessels, inbound or outbound, can expect to be stopped and looted. Teach demands a chest of medicine and a pardon from the governor of South Carolina. You find yourself as a prisoner on the ship when you realize Blackbeard has left the ship to meet with the governor. You and the other prisoners have one hour to find your way off of the ship before Blackbeard returns.

As a member of a team made up of Russian and American diplomats, you find yourself touring a nuclear command and control center in an underground bunker. The Cuban Missile Crisis has just come to an end. The two groups of diplomats meet to discuss disarmament. As you enter the bunker you realize that a nuclear activist has activated the launch sequence and sabotaged it. In one hour these missiles will launch, triggering a nuclear war. It is up to you and your fellow diplomats to find the clues, which will enable you to deactivate the launch sequence. If you do not find all the clues, mutually assured destruction is a certainty.

“I brought my volleyball team in for some together time. The owner let me watch the girls in action. It really showcased some of the things we need to work on. COMMUNICATION is key. Watching the girls in there made me realize that people are talking but not everyone is listening.” – Scott. B.

“We had so much fun and laughed so hard our stomachs hurt. At one point I was worried we would be kicked out because of some of the silly antics of my co-workers. Everyone was super nice and it was a great icebreaker for a few new employees.” – Keisha S.
